*A Coach’s Guide: Teaching Leadership to Young People
(May 14th: 6:30pm – 8pm) $40
This insightful presentation is for coaches. Parents & swimmers are also welcome to attend. This newly created course begins with an overview of leadership qualities & leadership skills. After which we discuss how to build, instill, & inspire leadership in young people beginning with the 8 & unders. We explore the roots of leadership and what coaches and parents can do to nurture leadership qualities. A 12 pg handout is included.

*The Construction and Correction of Strokes – Level 2
(May 15th: 8:30am – 4:30 pm) $75
This ASCA “flagship” course is our most popular presentation. There are no prerequisites & all coaches are welcome. The purpose of the course is to explore ideas about teaching & correcting strokes. After a short review of the basic principles of swimming dynamics, we will look at each stroke beginning with the current trends in world class performance & then on stroke progressions, drills & the development of swimmers of all ages. This class includes tons of video clips of Olympians as well as the developing swimmer.

*Starts, Turns & Finishes
(May 15th: 6pm – 9pm) $50
This is a greatly expanded section from the ASCA Level 2 Stroke School that explores in depth proper mechanics & teaching methods for acquiring great starts, turns & finishes. We offer extensive use of video clips of the Olympians right on down to novice swimmers learning progressions –this material is excellent for all coaches novice to senior.

**USA Club Leadership/Business Management
(May 14th & 15th: 6:30-9pm) $20
Required for all new USA clubs for club registration Course 201. Club coaches & board members will learn strategies to improve club governance, management, & leadership. Included are the basic models for swim teams, responsibilities of nonprofit boards, staff/board responsibilities, roles of the Head Coach, governance versus management, financial development, recruiting volunteers, evaluation, & assessment. Attendance at both sessions is required to fulfill the requirement. Either the Board/Booster Club president or Head Coach must attend (both are encouraged). This is required for new clubs, but all are welcome.
